AJR & Co. Assessment

Welcome

Dr. Ashley Junghans-Rutelonis, PhD, LP, PMH-C, R-PLC is a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with high-performing women who are wondering about neurodiversity and those who want clarity in their mental health diagnoses.

Psychological remote assessment is currently offered in 43 states & in-person in Minnesota (see HOME page for state list). You can find out more about my clinical practice on my Zencare Profile Page.

Dr. Ashley is an out-of-network mental health provider. This article from Zencare does a wonderful job explaining the benefits of and reasons for meeting with an out-of-network psychologist.

Assessment answers based on data and discussion.

Adult Neurodiversity Assessments

Adult neurodiversity assessments are available via telemedicine in 43 states and in-person in Minnesota. Assessments are provided to women ages 22-65+ and are specific to women and non-binary individuals.  Dr. Ashley's specialty work is informed by how neurodiversity can/does present in adult women. She often works with women who have high demand careers, feel like a diagnosis may have been missed earlier in life, and/or who are in periods of hormonal shifts.

The good news is that we know more and more about how neurodiversity presents in women. So, it is important to be evaluated by someone who is informed about nuanced presentations. Not everyone can be an expert in everything but this is Ashley's area of passion. If you are new to neurodiversity assessment or feel you have not been listened to in the past, she might be a great fit!

Neurodiversity assessments examine:

  1. If someone meets criteria for a diagnosis.
  2. The subtype and severity of diagnosis (if applicable).
  3. If someone meets criteria for other common, co-occurring mental health conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression).  In order to best determine an accurate diagnostic picture, information is also gathered about common mental health symptoms/diagnoses that can either present similar to or along with the diagnosis being assessed.
  4. Recommendations for next steps specific to the individual and their assessment findings.

Adult Comprehensive Assessments

If you are interested in a more comprehensive evaluation,  we can shape your assessment to your areas of interest. Each person going through the assessment process is unique so it can be helpful to tailor your assessment according to what is most important to you.

Of note, none of these assessments are necessary to determine a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD (for the vast majority of adults). However, many people pursuing assessments are in a place where they want to know more about themselves and are interested in some of these additional topics. These areas can be added onto an ADHD or ASD assessment or provided independently.

  • Differential Mental Health Diagnosis
  • Executive Functions
    • Higher level cognitive functions/flexibility including problem solving, planning and reasoning, deductive reasoning, abstract thinking, and others.
  • Memory
    • Cognitive assessment (or IQ) testing includes the four major components of IQ: verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed.
    • Areas that can be tested include auditory memory, visual memory, visual working memory, immediate memory, and delayed memory.
    • Working memory refers to the ability to temporarily hold and manipulate information in your mind.
    • Immediate and delayed memory data helps examine what happens to memory over time and how much information is retained.
  • Learning
    • In order to assess for learning strengths and weaknesses, core components of an academic achievement test are given. Additional subtests will be determined based on your question.  An intelligence test is a necessary component for learning disorder testing.
      • Dyslexia - Specific Learning Disorder in Reading
      • Dysgraphia - Specific Learning Disorder in Writing
      • Dyscalculia - Specific Learning Disorder in Math
  • Career and Leadership Assessment
    • Depending on specific career/professional questions, assessment measures may examine professional strengths/areas for improvement, themes in how you approach work and career choices, personality variables pertinent to the workplace, leadership and/or management skills, and others.

Fees vary depending on scope of services provided, are discussed at beginning of the individual testing process, and  are determined on an individual basis.
